Community Awareness programmes

The biggest barriers people with disabilities encounter are other people of society. Disability Awareness means educating people regarding disabilities and giving people the knowledge required to carry out a job or task thus separating good practices from poor practices. It is no longer enough just to know that disability discrimination is unlawful. Disability etiquette are guidelines dealing specifically with how to approach people with disabilities and were initially created to challenge social conventions rather than to reinforce them.

Promoting disability awareness

1.  Delivering mainstream services and information.

2.  Community activities.

3.  Employment.

4.  Sporting activities.

5.  Social activities.

6.   Media.

7.   Education.

8.   Local business.
